This fragile life of ours.

Im not sure how to start writing tonight so I suppose best thing to do is start typing.

My dear friend Julian passed in his sleep last Saturday night and tomorrow Im going to his service. Julian was a giant of a person in a tiny atrophied body. Julian could not move ANY part of his body except for his eyes. He started to lose motor functions when he was 6 years old. Julian was a fighter. I will miss our many coffee sessions talking about life, politics, poetry, movies. Julian was incredibly patient. in the 10 years I have known him he always had a kind way of treating others. So many questions and interactions from could be

Those big blue eyes were always so kind, curious, empathetic and attentive. Julians eyes must have meant everything to him – the one thing he physically could control.

I suppose he could speak and were able to do that voluntarily. His voice was so weak that he used a small speaker and mic to amplify his words.

Over the years I got better at interpreting and understanding him. I hope the funeral goes well tomorrow.
