Review Lab
Status · Working prototype
Can a language model review a focused argument or public claim for support, overreach, and uncertainty rather than merely summarize or reassure?
Original need
Writers and researchers needed a repeatable way to slow down before publication and ask what the text actually supports.
Hypothesis or working theory
Constrained review modes and explicit output structures can produce more useful scrutiny than an unconstrained chat.
What was attempted
Focused passages, claims, legal posture, research language, citations, and book sections were routed through specialized review frames.
What was built
A working early-access editorial review interface with bounded tools, output modes, follow-up actions, and publication-safety language.
What was demonstrated
- Structured model-assisted editorial review can identify possible overreach and missing support.
- The interface preserves the distinction between review help and final authority.
- Input and source-access limits are documented.
What was not demonstrated
Review Lab has not demonstrated independent verification, complete factual checking, academic peer review, or professional advice.
Failures or limitations
The current prototype has input limits and cannot read every URL or file type. It can repeat model errors and must not be treated as a source.
