Can learning be demonstrated when prior pressure and consequence produce a measurable change in future selection?
Original need
Changed behavior is often labeled learning without showing that the change came from a prior event or survives a controlled test.
Hypothesis or working theory
A recorded loop of pressure, choice, consequence, retained signal, and later selection may support a bounded learning claim when alternatives are controlled.
What was attempted
Trials 001–003 tested future-selection changes and recorded supported, failed, and ambiguous cases rather than treating every change as success.
What was built
A formal trial record, visualizer, descriptor requirements, collision constraints, failure analysis, and current predictions.
What was demonstrated
- The trials produced inspectable changes and useful failure findings.
- Descriptor ambiguity and collision handling materially affect interpretation.
- The same-operator confound must remain visible.
What was not demonstrated
Seeing Loop is a theory under investigation. The trials do not establish autonomous learning, a general mechanism, or operator-independent causation.
Failures or limitations
Alternative explanations include prompt effects, selection criteria, collisions, chance, and the same person designing and judging the test. Precommitted independent replication has not been completed.
